Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of receipt.garden (the "Service"), run by Vasyl Ryzhkov, a self-employed individual based in Portugal ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@receipt.garden. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
receipt.garden reads photos of your receipts, extracts the merchant, date, items and prices, sorts the items into categories and shows you where your money goes. You can also add receipts by hand.
The Service is a tool for keeping your own records. It is not certified invoicing or accounting software and does not give tax or accounting advice. You remain responsible for keeping any original documents that tax or accounting rules require.
2. Your account
Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it. By registering you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
3. Your content
The receipts and other data you upload remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only as far as needed to provide the Service to you. We do not use them to train or improve any AI model, and we do not sell them or use them for advertising.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, including when you share a receipt with a group.
4. Accuracy of extracted data
Receipts are read automatically and the result can contain mistakes. Check the data before you rely on it for accounting, tax or any other official purpose.
5. Groups
If you add a receipt to a group, the other members of that group see its data, including every line (but not the photo). Members of a group also see each other's email addresses. Receipts you do not add to a group are visible only to you.
6. Price
The Service is free. If we introduce paid plans, we will show you the price and conditions and ask for your agreement first; nothing is charged without it.
7. Acceptable use
Do not upload unlawful content, do not try to disrupt or break into the Service, and do not access accounts or data that are not yours.
8. Ending
You can stop using the Service at any time. To have your account deleted, write to us; see the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. If we decide to close the Service, we will tell you by email at least 30 days in advance.
9. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or in any other case where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
Apart from that, and as far as the law allows: the Service is free and provided as it is, without guarantees beyond those the law requires, and our total liability for any claim arising from your use of it is limited to €50. This does not affect rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by contract.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms, for example when the Service or the law changes. We will tell you about important changes in the Service or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account; if you keep using it after that date, the new Terms apply.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Portugal. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of the country where you live. If a part of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
12. Language versions
These Terms are available in several languages. If the versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
